Feature Activities:

Ipswich goes GREEN Miniature Golf Course

 

Local Artists, Architects, and tinkerers will design and build a miniature golf course for the public to use and enjoy.  The each mini-golf hole will reflect environmental themes, and will use recycled and natural materials.  Fun for all ages.

 

North Shore Localvore – Local and Organic Food 

Featuring local farms, fishers, food producers, and markets from and around Ipswich that provides a unique local, organic and sustainable food culture on the North Shore.  

 

**Special Localvore Activities**

 

Seafood Throwdown! – Two Ipswich chefs will compete in an ultimate seafood cookoff, sponsored by the Cape Ann Fresh Catch community supported fishing and Northwest Atlantic Marine Alliance.  Ipswich celebrity judges will select the top Chef in a fun, educational and community driven event  that promotes the ecological and economic benefit of locally caught seafood.

Cape Ann Food Pantry/The Open Door will feature The Good Food Farm, an interactive exhibit that encourages children to learn where their food is grown.   The Good Food Farm is part of the Mobile Market that brings fresh food and produce to families in need on the North Shore.

Community Building Community – 17th and 21st Century building 

As the town celebrates its founding in 1634, the design and building community of Ipswich is working together to create two side-by-side exhibits. Town of Ipswich Sustainability and Green Initiatives

 

Showcase of Ipswich departments and policies that have been implemented for environmental sustainability.  Ipswich Planning board, DPW, IMLD, Open Space, Recycling Committee, Town Committee on Energy Use,  Ipswich Schools will provide examples on how commitment at the Municipal level is needed for sustainable efforts.

Featuring businesses who demonstrate commitment to sustainability through their products or how their business is run.
